I know it's been a while, but DS4Win has a setting now where it disguises the Dualsense/PS5 as a DS4, and Game Maker actually recognizes the DS4 controller.
In case you can't find it in DS4Win, I created a new profile, and it opened a popup asking if I wanted to configure the PS5 controller as an Xbox controller or a DS4. Pick DS4, make sure the controller you're using is set on that profile, and you're done.
Now I'm gonna go find out if this works on a bunch of other games that seem to hate the PS5 controller.
